UDIA joins Brisbane Economic Recovery Taskforce External Consultation Group
The Institute has been invited to join Brisbane City Council’s Economic Recovery Taskforce External Consultation Group . The taskforce will manage the rebuilding of Brisbane’s economy and help businesses get back on their ‘feet’ following the coronavirus crisis.
The Institute has been in contact with the Lord Mayor, Cr Adam Allan, the CEO, officers and members of the Economic Recovery Taskforce Steering Committee.
Council’s CEO acknowledged our efforts to obtain streamlining of applications through the plan sealing stage of development assessment. This is a critical objective of the Institute and our Brisbane Advisory Panel.
The Institute wrote to council in late March regarding the impact of COVID-19 on the property sector with initial recommendations. Further submissions to council have been made on our Project Bounce Back: Industry Action Plan, plan sealing, and Budget deliberations.
