TOWNSVILLE: Event wrap up
There was a great turn out of over 40 members for the Spotlight on HomeBuilder branch event on March 11. Branch President Duane Gibson said it was great to network and hear about the positive impact the grant has had on local development.
Federal Member for Herbert Phillip Thompson provided an update on the take up of the grant and the positive response despite the uncertain nature of the pandemic. Special thanks to David Laner from Stockland and Glen Maidment from Maidment Group, for their views on the local and regional markets, and for participating in the panel discussion.
A key theme of the panel discussion was the ability for the local building industry to achieve the construction deadlines amidst the North Queensland wet season. It would be good to see a relaxation of these deadlines to ensure the public do not miss out on the grant.
