TOOWOOMBA: Planning Scheme Update

The Toowoomba Regional Council is currently undertaking a new Planning Scheme and Local Government Industry Plan (LGIP) review as part of the Toowoomba Region Futures Program.

There are currently three initiatives under this program including:

  • Toowoomba Regional Growth Plan – Shape a community vision for growth and development in our region for the next 30 years
  • Love Your Local Landscapes – Understand the landscapes most valued by the community and help build a plan to help protect and enhance these areas into the future
  • Talking Towns – Outline a clear vision for the urban form of our towns and townships outside the city, as well as selected inner suburbs of Toowoomba. It will include a range of planning and urban design guidelines and recommendations on topics such as:
    • Street design
    • Building design
    • Village centres
    • Climate-responsive design
    • Ageing in place

Please continue to check this website for any future opportunities to have your say. Don’t hesitate to send your thoughts on these issues to toowoomba@udiaqld.com.au for inclusion in the Institute’s submissions to council.
