Multi-Unit Residential Destinations

These masterplans set the benchmark in dwelling design, structure, and form. In this tour, revel in the ingenuity of these developments as you walk through a mixture of apartments, condominiums, and houses, along with expertly and thoughtfully positioned community facilities – from parks, retail spaces, fitness areas, commercial hubs and more.

A collection of innovative lofts, stylish apartments, and home offices designed by Six Degrees Architects.

Featuring soaring double-height ceilings, light-filled living spaces, abundant residential amenity, and a vibrant new piazza. Escala encapsulates the flair and liveability of Melbourne in one address.

The project comprises 173 apartments, 1,200 sqm of office space and four ground floor shops. Escala was designed by celebrated Melbourne architects, Six Degrees. A key feature of this project is MAB’s innovative Loft apartment designs that comprise 50 percent of the total apartments. The Lofts include 4.5-meter-high ceilings with a flexible mezzanine level above the kitchen. A second notable feature of Escala is the Creative Workspaces, also in a double height format, which is capable of being fitted out with mezzanine levels. The Creative Workspaces are designed to be subdivided into smaller strata lots aided by a spectacular arcade which draws light down into all parts of the floorplate. A digital publishing business fell in love with the design and has acquired 100 percent of the space.

Residential and office workers both enjoy the use of the facilities at level 6, including a pool, gymnasium, and rooftop garden

Residents have exclusive access to a library with comfortable surroundings designed for study or work from home meetings.

Six Degrees brings detail and artisan flourishes to Escala including their signature, stained glass windows which adorn the ground floor, lift lobbies, and the residential bathrooms. The variety and detail lavished on each façade lead to over 27 façade types, resulting in a diverse collection of buildings that relate differently to each street frontage. The diversity of facades was a considerable challenge for the builder and the design team. The intricate, interlocking design of the lofts, and exposed concrete ceilings and internal stairs also challenged the team to coordinate the services and resolve numerous junctions and details within each apartment.
