Residential park rent review timing protected during COVID-19
The Institute has sought fair emergency regulations for the residential (manufactured homes) parks.
Regulations are being prepared by the State Government regarding residential manufactured home parks under the Justice and Other Legislation (COVID-19 Emergency Response) Amendment Act 2020.
The Institute made a submission seeking that any regulations do not disrupt the timing of site rent reviews into the future or existing select rent reviews that have been completed or commenced. The Institute is concerned for the potential unintended consequences of changes as there would be well over 1,000 different versions of Site Agreements in existence. Each would have its own particular intricacies in terms of what arrangements have been agreed.
The Institute recommended relaxing timeframes for dispute resolution should concerns around the ability of residents to provide input during the COVID-19 period arise.
