Record number of Branch Committee nominations roll in

A record-breaking number of nominations to regional branch committees have been received across Queensland.

The Institute’s two-yearly spill of all 12 regional Branch Committees is currently underway and has attracted a strong pool of talented nominees in every branch in the State.

Institute CEO Kirsty Chessher-Brown said the huge number of nominees was a testament to member’s commitment to volunteering for the benefit of industry and the communities we build.

“Committee nominees take on these volunteer roles on top of their “day jobs”, family commitments, and in many cases, in addition to other volunteer roles they play in their communities,” she said.

“Coming forward to nominate demonstrates an impressive level of service to our industry.”

Nominations have now closed and will be forwarded to the Board for decision at its April meeting so current committees stand until May of this year.

The first order of business at the first meeting of the new Committees in May and June of this year, is the update of the Branch Business Plan identifying policy advocacy priorities and key features of the branch’s events program.
