Last MOU meeting for 2019

Members from the Institute’s Redland Advisory Panel had their last working group meeting with council for 2019. Chair of the Redland Advisory Panel, Chris Isles, raised critical items such as an update on the Victoria Point Structure Plan and the latest on the planning scheme amendments.

Members will recall the structure plan is essential to enabling the orderly delivery of infrastructure for this residential community in the heart of the Redland Coast. Council reported that the structure plan will not be decided prior to the end of the year.

The Institute has advocated for council to ensure it meets the dwelling supply benchmarks established by the South East Queensland Regional Plan, and it maintains land supply for housing affordability in the region.

Members also sought an update on the planning scheme amendments, and particularly the proposed biodiversity mapping in the City Plan. No timeframe was provided.

We will continue to seek resolution on the structure plan and biodiversity mapping in 2020.
