Institute welcomes new Council CEO
The Institute has reached out to new Mackay Regional Council Chief Executive Officer Michael Thomson to welcome him to the role.
Michael was previously the CEO of the Northern Territory’s Power and Water Corporation where he was responsible for the delivery of electricity generation and distribution, water and gas services.
Prior to that, Michael was interim CEO for United Energy and Multinet Gas in Victoria from 2013 to 2015. The appointment of the new CEO has come as Craig Doyle takes up an opportunity as the inaugural CEO of a start-up company in the resources sector.
The Institute’s Mackay and Whitsunday branch wrote to the new CEO welcoming him to his new role and outlining the branch’s role in the Mackay region.
The Mackay Whitsunday Branch President and committee is set to meet Michael at the end of August to outline the branch’s priorities.
