Institute calls on council to “get ready for HomeBuilder”

The Institute met with the Ipswich City Council’s General Manager – Planning and Regulatory Services, Peter Tabulo to discuss how council has responded to challenges from COVID-19.

In light of the Federal HomeBuilder grant demand, the Institute and the Ipswich Branch President, Sam Burgess highlighted key issues for council to address.

This included discussion about the expected increased demand placed on various council teams including the Development and Engineering team, which can expect a number of applications for operational works as result of the industry bringing forward approved residential land.

Additional demands driven by the new grant will be high right through until the grant expires in December 2020.
