Industry Advisory Committee

The Institute has established the Industry Advisory Group Committee to workshop important pinch points impacting members and the industry with key government stakeholders.

Chaired by CEO, Kirsty Chessher-Brown, and with members from State Government, local government, and utilities, the purpose of the committee is to foster communication and collaboration with government.
In its first meeting held in October, the committee discussed priority issues such as waste, population growth, and intergovernmental collaboration.

“As the peak body for developers in the State, we meet with many stakeholders from all areas of government,” says Kirsty Chessher-Brown.

“When working through the tough issues that span governments and departments, it’s been the joint workshops and forums that achieve the best outcomes. We formed a committee that will provide this opportunity on a regular basis.

“I see this committee as part of the Institute’s role as a connector between the industry and government, and I’m excited about the potential we have to resolve some key obstacles that are impeding the creation of homes for Queenslanders.”

As part of the Institute’s suite of policy committees, the founding Industry Advisory Group Committee members are:

Dyan Currie, Brisbane City Council
Tony Roberts, Department of Environment and Science
Brett McDonald, Department of Housing and Public Works
Natalie Wilde, Department of Local Government, Racing and Multicultural Affairs
Kerry Doss, Department of State Development, Manufacturing, Infrastructure and Planning
Jason Camden, Economic Development Queensland
Gerard Carlyon, Fraser Coast Regional Council
Brett Davey, Ipswich City Council
David Hansen, Logan City Council
David Jeanes, Redland City Council
Ian Hall, Queensland Urban Utilities.

The committee will meet every four months with the aim of undertaking project work that focuses on priority areas.
