In the wake of recent bushfire events, it has been reported that the listing of the Koala may be elevated, following a review by the Threatened Species Scientific Committee.  The committee is expected to bring forward an assessment and decision of whether koalas have moved from a vulnerable listing to being endangered in some parts of the country.
