Branch meets new General Manager for Planning

The Institute’s Ipswich Branch President, Sam Burgess, welcomes Peter Tabulo, council’s new General Manager of Planning and Regulatory Service to region.

The Institute recently met Peter to discuss the branch’s priorities, including further input on the new Planning Scheme, reaching an MOU with the branch and improving coordination of key growth areas, such as Ripley Valley.

Mr Tabulo was the Director of Planning and Development at the neighbouring Somerset Regional Council, a position he held from 2018. Prior to that he was CEO of Cairns Regional Council from 2012 to 2016 and before that he was their General Manager of Planning for 11 years. Peter has also worked in town planning roles for the councils of Caboolture, Toowoomba, and Mulgrave.

The Institute looks forward to continuing a relationship with Ipswich City Council as it embarks on several critical planning matters, including the preparation of a new Planning Scheme.
