Toowoomba is Australia’s second largest inland city with a population in excess of 165,000 people. Future growth forecasts to 2031 indicate that the region will be home to an additional 70,000 over the next 15 years.
The Toowoomba Branch of the Institute plays a pivotal role in the city’s growth and our members are excited about the development prospects for the region.
The Toowoomba housing market has a significant upside when compared to other centres and figures indicate strong growth. The Surat Basin Regional Planning Frameworks indicates that Toowoomba will provide the majority of housing to meet the housing needs of the growing Surat Basin workforce.
The Branch is an active community of business leaders who are committed to building a better region. It is significant that nearly every development project being undertaken in Toowoomba is done by Institute members.
The Branch actively represented members in a review of the Western Downs Planning Scheme, and continues to advocate for infrastructure charges and greenfield incentives.
We are proud of our reputation as the expert advisors to regional councils and have worked hard to build strong relationships with Toowoomba Regional Enterprise, the Toowoomba Regional Business Forum and the Toowoomba Chamber of Commerce.
We continue to facilitate access to industry leaders and decision makers with our monthly events, which provide expert insight and analysis of the issues facing our industry.
We provide terrific networking opportunities, and host exciting events on topics including infrastructure charging, real estate market updates, engineering standards, and more.
