The Institute responded to a sleigh-load of policy announcements in the busy lead up to Christmas. State Government departments wrapped up milestones with numerous releases of drafts for consultation and regulation changes.

These changes were also examined:

  • Implementation of The Spit Master Plan Bill 2019 (including the proposed repair to Planning Act compensations provisions)
  • Rental reforms – A better renting future
  • Electoral and Other Legislation (Accountability, Integrity and Other Matters) Amendment Bill 2019 and Inquiry into the feasibility of introducing expenditure caps for Queensland local government elections
