  • Submission on Mackay Regional Council Draft Corporate Plan 2015 – 2020

    The Mackay Whitsunday Branch has delivered its submission to the Mackay Regional Council on the Draft Corporate Plan 2015-2020.

     

    The branch has submitted its comments on several initiatives including: activation of the river; co-investment for development; partnerships for economic development; planning for growth; revitalisation of the city centre; and a strategy for strong local businesses with global reach.

  • Toowoomba Council Introduces Technology to Support Electronic Assessment Applications

    On Monday 18 May, Toowoomba Regional Council introduced new technology which will support the electronic assessment of applications for building certification and building compliance.

    The new initiative aims to reduce the time Council takes to manage hard copy documents and for applicants to receive their returned documents. Council launched the program for planning and engineering teams, as well as the plumbing and drainage team, earlier this year.

  • UDIA (Qld) Mackay Whitsunday Welcomes Upgrade to Proserpine Waste Water Project

    The State Government’s commitment to a $6 million funding contribution for the Proserpine Waste Water Project has been welcomed by the Mackay Whitsunday Branch.

    On announcement of the funding, State Development Minister The Hon Dr Anthony Lynham MP said the new waste water treatment plant is much larger and will enable the town to cater for additional capacity until the year 2036.

    UDIA (Qld) Mackay Branch President John Harris said the new treatment plant is a positive step for the region and will support industry and economic growth.
