Major developments in full flow
As the Gold Coast continues to grow at a rapid pace, the branch has prepared an update on current major developments for the region.
Light Rail extension
Work is well underway for the Gold Coast Light Rail extension (Stage 2). The new station located at Helensvale is creating more opportunities for growth in the area.
The connection to heavy rail will also provide better access to the northern growth areas of the Gold Coast, and create an expanded park ‘n’ ride facility improving connectivity.
Arundel Springs is a Villa World development on a 25ha site at the end of Greenacre Drive. It adjoins the Arundel Seachange Development and the Coombabah Lakelands Conservation Area.
The development comprises 306 lots (ranging from 300m2 to 811m2) and approximately 85 townhomes. Bulk earthworks are underway, and the first stage of 49 lots is due for completion in June.
The masterplan includes wide public space areas that front directly to the Coombabah Lakelands Conservation Area and will become the centrepiece for Arundel Springs.
There is a strong working relationship between the client and the Gold Coast City Council on the regeneration of the section of the Coombabah Wetlands Conservation Area. Extensive landscape works, and construction of new walkways and bikeways will provide multiple pathways back to Arundel Springs.
