Adam Gowlett at Branch Presidents' day
Cairns Branch President Adam Gowlett joined us at the Branch Presidents’ professional development and training day, held at our Brisbane office on September 1.
The day commenced with a welcome address from our State President Stephen Harrison and a briefing on the Research Foundation from our CEO, Marina Vit.
Our Manager of Policy, Martin Zaltron, gave a brief about the recent policy updates on the agenda for 2017 and discussed key issues the branches would like addressed including main roads and transport issues as well as Energy Queensland matters.
The meeting concluded with an update from our Regional Events Executive, Emmagen Carr, about how attendance at events keep growing each year owing to success of roadshows like the New Planning Act, Market Update and events like the Development Showcase. The importance of keeping the regional event ‘regional’ was also discussed and it was decided that the committees will work on identifying local issues that can be turned into an event.
Post wrap-up, the Branch Presidents and team members headed off on site visits to the Brentwood Forest with AVID Property Group and the Yungaba House with Frasers Property Australia.
Adam said it was great to catch up a day after the Annual Developers Conference and learn where the other branches are at.
“The site visits to Brentwood Forest and Yungaba House were very informative as well. A fantastic and productive day overall.”
