Development challenges shared with Transport and Main Roads
Identifying opportunities to work together and the need for early infrastructure planning were the key messages presented at the DTMR Forum by the UDIA Queensland representatives recently. Institute representatives recently provided a presentation to a forum of Department of Main Roads development assessment officers and staff regarding the industry.
The presentations to DTMR Development assessment offices were well received by the department, and engendered significant discussion regarding possible improvements to assessment arrangements. Members often interact with DTMR on matters related to development applications, noise attenuation, road design and delivery, public transport planning and integration and resumptions.
The Institute is appreciative of the opportunity to engage with the department and welcomes the department’s willingness to work on issues around assessment matters. We would appreciate members bringing to our attention experiences and concerns with the regulations related to the Department to add to the issues that we are currently pursuing. We will provide further information on this engagement in due course. Any comments on this issue can be directed to Manager of Policy, Martin Zaltron via email@example.com or on 07 3229 1589.
