Incentives to transform Toowoomba

A temporary Toowoomba CBD Development Incentives Policy has been put in place for development applications received by Council between 1 July 2015 and 30 June 2021. To be eligible projects should have a construction value exceeding $3 million (excluding Refurbishment or Fit-Out), and substantially commence by 30 June 2021; and complete within 2 years.

Toowoomba council is seeking to stimulate CBD sustainable growth, diversity and value to the local economy with catalytic developments which will reinforce the strength and vitality of the centre.

Council have invested in projects to attract investment in the CBD including the Kwong Sang Walkway and will soon begin work on another walkway in Margaret Street, which will make the area more open and attractive for customers looking to shop in the heart of the city.

Council has set aside $3 million for the Temporary Toowoomba CBD Development Incentives Policy.
