Townsville BP’s end of year wrap up

Thank you to our Townsville Branch members for another great year. We really appreciate your support to help the local development industry deliver better communities.

This year our events attracted over 250 attendees. Transforming Townsville in particular had an amazing turnout and made sure we ended 2017 on a high.

It has also been a busy year from a policy perspective. We ensured the voices of Townsville Branch Members were heard in our responses to pivotal matters like various aspects of the Townsville City Deal and the Townsville City Waterfront Priority Development Scheme. We also made representations in relation to development fees and charges for the region.

The branch also engaged extensively with decision makers on State roads and development application referrals, and had successful outcomes like the Townsville Dust Monitoring Program and water usage allowance for developments during water restrictions. We also provided critical input on the draft Townsville Local Government Infrastructure Plan (LGIP) and associated infrastructure charges as well as the planning fee schedule and on the Development Manual. In addition, we provided input into the draft Queensland Building Plan, the proposed Urban Design Referral Trigger, and the Queensland Housing Code as well.

Our Research Foundation reports, Planning Pulse, Regional Radar, and Census fact sheets were also delivered straight to your inbox, sharing the latest market and consumer analysis for Townsville.

Thanks also to the branch committee for their work this year. Your time and effort is greatly appreciated.

On behalf of the committee, we look forward to seeing you all in 2018.
