Sunshine Coast Branch meets with council
The Branch met with Sunshine Coast Regional Council on 26 September to discuss key matters affecting the local development industry.
The productive meeting forms a foundation for future collaboration with council, and reinforces the branch’s work in maintaining an open, honest, and positive affiliation with local government.
A range of matters were discussed including:
The Light Rail project
Self-assessment options for private operational works
Street tree contributions in lieu of planting.
Branch committee member Graeme Bews said that he welcomed regular dialogue with council in an effort to produce good outcomes for both the industry and council.
“This meeting saw a good outcome, and that is mutual collaboration on matters that are important to the local industry and council.
“Council have expressed their willingness for continued dialogue with the branch on projects like Light Rail, and the branch is pleased to be involved.”
