Gold Coast Logan, let's continue the good work we’ve started together
Re-join as a member of the Institute in 2018 to continue the good work we’ve started together!
As we approach the end of 2017, it’s opportune to reflect on what we’ve achieved together. You told us what was important to the local development industry. We took that feedback and kept it front of mind when we advocated to government, undertook research, and planned informative branch events.
We also know each region faces different opportunities and challenges. The Branch is working hard to voice member feedback on local industry matters, and we are pleased to share a few highlights from 2017:
We introduced a new Business Plan for the branch that focuses on local government engagement and advocacy, provides effective communication, and membership growth
We increased our focus on Member Alerts outlining the game changing projects of our region through monthly fact sheets including the Priority Development Areas for Southport, Flagstone, and Yarrabilba; the Gold Coast Health & Knowledge Precinct and major projects like the Gold Coast Cultural Precinct; Logan Centres; Commonwealth Games facilities; Transport Network upgrades; Pimpama Sports Precinct; and the like
We engaged extensively with the decision makers of the Gold Coast and Logan on their infrastructure plans, advocating improvements in the development guidelines, building level freeboard, and water quality approach
We focused on the planning schemes for the Gold Coast and Logan and considered the changing frameworks such as for coastal management districts, vegetation offsets, and Planning Act impacts including plan sealing
Our Research Foundation reports, Planning Pulse, Regional Radar, and Census fact sheets were delivered straight to your inbox, sharing the latest market and consumer analysis for Gold Coast and Logan
We hosted nine events including a regional market update, and a Planning System workshop.
