Managing Brisbane’s flood risk

Brisbane City Council is analysing new flood data with a view to updating  their flood products and policies, including the Flood Awareness Maps, FloodWise Property Report and the Flood Planning Areas of the Flood Overlay map in the Brisbane City Plan 2014.

Currently the new data is for reference purposes only, but it’s possible that it will inform future amendments to City Plan 2014. The new models are available for reference and may be used in consultation with Council's Development Assessment branch.

If you are interested in accessing the new flood modelling data, please contact Council on 07 3403 8888 for a copy.

Last year, 13 flood studies were completed and in 2015 the following creek studies are scheduled:

  • Perrin Creek
  • South Pine River (carried out by Moreton Bay Regional Council)
  • Moolabin/Rocky Water Holes Creek
  • Sheep Station Gully Creek
  • Tingalpa Drain
  • Nundah Creek.
