  • Sunshine Coast Spotlight On: Offsets

The Department of Environment and Heritage Protection has just released a draft Environmental Offsets Regulation for comment – the last step in a significant process to reform Queensland’s environmental offsets schemes.

The new policy, which is due to come into effect mid 2014, will replace five existing Queensland Government offset policies and is designed to establish a simplified approach to determining an offset obligation and provide greater flexibility in offset delivery choices.

What does this mean for your projects?

Join the UDIA (Qld) Sunshine Coast branch and guest speakers as they unpack how the policy will interact with local government offset policies; how it will affect your project/s; what the options are for offsetting; whether financial offsetting is a viable option and how this interrelates with the Federal Government’s One-Stop-Shop election promise.
