How do you think the Development Assessment Process should work?

With planning legislation and regulations currently being drafted, it’s the perfect time to rethink and design an efficient Development Assessment Process. We want you to play a key role in influencing how development is assessed, so our industry can continue to provide healthy and vibrant communities.

The UDIA (Qld) is working with the Government during this time, with a shared view of ensuring the best possible development assessment system results. Join us and let us know your thoughts, as we take a fresh look at how development applications are assessed, and how they should be assessed in the future.

What you need to know:

  • The State Government is rewriting planning legislation and has released draft development assessment rules and processes for comment (known as Development Assessment Queensland)
  • Key Government decision makers will be in the room
  • This will be an active and outcome focused event featuring panel discussions and debates.

  • The best practice of assessment (laws and processes) will be identified
    - Categories of assessment
    - Private sector involvement
  • The link between planning schemes and delivery will be enhanced
  • Increased knowledge and skills development
  • How appropriate development opportunities outside the Urban Footprint can be assessed on their merits
  • We will be better informed to advocate on your behalf
