Moreton Bay
The Moreton Bay development industry plays a significant role in the Queensland economy. A UDIA report “Economic Impact of the Development Industry in Queensland – 2007/2008”, indicates it produces a total average turnover of $5,261 million (the latest available figures) and contributes $3,647 million to Gross State Product on an annual basis. About 10 per cent of the region’s workforce, or 26,000 people, are directly employed by the industry on a full-time equivalent basis and the industry contributes $505 million in state and federal taxes.
